Yet,it was another planting season.
He is such a diligent, faithful and believing farmer, who has an understanding of time and season,so he would not miss this season for anything.
Yea,the heaps are already made and seeds sown into them, all that is left is rainfall to ensure proper germination of the crops.
He left for home after a hard day's work, joyful and expectant,so convinced that there will soon be an outpour of rain.
However, days passed by and there was not even sign of a tiny cloud let alone rain.Days turned into weeks and weeks into months, and the ground was still as hot and dry as ever.
Nevertheless, this believing farmer was so assured of the faithfulness of the giver of rain that he held up his hopes so high,he would not give up,he kept having hopes.
Hmmm, just like a twinkle of an eye,a year had gone by and no rainfall still. Thus,he increased his faith, prayed more, praised more, but all was to no avail,it felt like the heavens had closed over his own farm alone because walking through other people's farm around him,he could feel the wetness that comes from good rainfall.
Guess what,it was two years already, yet no sign of rain, despair began to set in,he was beginning to lose his faith, then he listened to the words of faith and his spirit came alive again,he chose to believe all over ,he adopted more strategies, read more books on faith, gave more, prayed more even bought new seeds to replant in faith and the story remained the same, there would not just be rain.
Wow,it's five years already without rain on this farmers farm,so he felt the Creator had forgotten about his farm,he already had become a subject of mockery to his unbelieving and even some believing neighbors.
Then,he woke up one morning and told himself "Today if there would be no rain,I will end it all",so he headed for his farm as usual with as little as no hope at all,he was not however dissapointed as there was still no rain ,he had planned to fall into a very deep ditch close to his farm where no one can rescue him,and as he was just one step to the ditch,a sudden darkness accompanied with coolness surrounded him,he stopped for a moment looked around then up,oh it was a heavy cloud, rain had come at last, and just before he could take any further step, the rain poured down so heavily like it had not in years.
Alas, this farmer could not take it again,he fell down on his knees weeping, just when he was about to give up,the Creator came through for him.
Many of us are not different from this farmer, over the years,we have believed God for some things but it feels like the answers will never come, yet we see others around us seeming to enjoy what we have been praying for.Our heart is shattered, all we see are broken dreams, denied expectations, failed aspirations and when we try to even look inside all we feel is emptiness, the courage with which we use to speak of Gods faithfulness has eluded us,and just like this farmer,we have become objects of mockery to people around us.Many at times we go about with failed confidence hidden behind our perfect clothings and beautiful make ups,we feel God has forgotten us.
I want to encourage someone today that God has your name written on the palms of His hands,He cannot forget you,He knows how much you can take and believe me,He will step in right in time and all the years the locust of delay, defeat, sickness, lack, barreness, and cankerworm of fears, shame has eaten,He will restore back unto you.
Wipe ur tears beloved, hold on for just a little while more,God will surely step in right in time for you.
Shalom.
God never forgets His beloved, this is actually a lesson,no matter how long we've been waiting, He's not slow 'cos he makes all things beautiful in His time...Nice piece, thank you!
